On 5th October, 2018 at about 21.10 hours, one passenger arrived Warangal railway station and boarded Train No.12622 Tamilnadu Express in front General coach. Before departure of the train, one among three unknown offenders boarded in the same coach and forcibly made the complainant to get down from the train on pretext to talk to him and remaining two persons surrounded him by putting under threat and robbed his mobile phone from his hand and net cash Rs. 14,34,800/- from his back pack. All of them fled away from the spot with the stolen property. In this connection, on 6th October, 2018 GRP, Warangal registered a case based on the complaint given by the victim.
Sri M.Ravi Babu, IPF / WL and Sri K. Madhu, SIPF/Mahabubabad verified CCTV footage and identified dacoity gang of 5 offenders out of 8 offenders. Based on this technical evidence collected intelligence and identified other three offenders too and kept watch over the movements. During this process, on reliable information, on 12thOctober, 2018 arrested 4 offenders with the recovery of Rs.9,72,800/- from their possession at Warangal Railway Station while they were trying to escape by Push-pull train from Warangal to Hyderabad. Further interrogation of these accused revealed about their association with the gold business and remaining 4 accused, who are residing in Shivanagar near Warangal Station, were also arrested with recovery of Rs. 2,42,500/-. With this, total recovery of stolen amount is Rs.12,15,300/- from all the eight offenders. All the eight accused persons were produced before Hon'ble JFCM court, Kazipet and remanded to judicial custody.
In this connection, GRP officers and staff held 'Press Meet' at Warangal and appreciated team and also rewarded three RPF staff with Rs.1,000/- each for their excellent detection skills.
