Elimination Of Violence Against Women Employees is Top priority for SCR -Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, SCR


Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railway stated that, South Central Railway has taken several initiatives towards elimination of violence against women employees to provide confidence amongst staff of SCR. He was the Chief Guest at the “UN Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women” a program organized by South Central Railway Employees Sangh(SCRES), today i.e., 26th November, 2018 at Sr. Institute, Lallaguda, Secunderabad.


In his address, Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav said that the violence against women is a global problem and it should be addressed properly. South Central Railway has taken several proactive steps and initiatives to ensure safety for the women employees. To showcase the strength of women workforce, SCR declared six railway stations as “All Women Stations”, wherein all the activities like train operations, ticketing, Security etc are totally managed by women employees. He also informed that, to provide safe environment for women at work place, several committees have been constituted at zonal and divisional levels, comprising Senior Railway Officials and Others to handle the cases of harassment against women employees at work place. He informed that, separate staff room, rest room, toilet and change room for women employees are provided o­n zone at all the required locations. He also appreciated the SCRES as well as South Central Railway Women’s Welfare Organization for their initiatives and continuous efforts in creating awareness in the society to respect the values of women.


Smt. Padmini Radhakrishnan, Principal Financial Advisor, SCR specking o­n the occasion stated that, it is the responsibility of every woman employee to bring to the notice of administration o­n any act of violence against women employees at work place and to negate the issue properly. She also informed that, now a day’s different types of violence o­n women taking place across the globe, such as Cyber harassment, forced marriages etc and she called upon to counter all these types of violence collectively. Smt.Padmini Radhakrishnan was felicitated by the General Manger o­n the occasion.


Shri M.Raghavaiah, General Secretary NFIR and SCR Employees Sangh, addressing the gathering stated that all the men employees should respect the women employees and respecting women should become part of our culture, allow women to develop o­n their own self to encourage them is all spheres. He also said that if we lose character, we will lose everything in the society and organization. He advised the employees to work with unity and good conduct to bring laurels to SCR.
