The Hyderabad Division of South Central Railway has tapped an innovative option of generating Non-Fare Revenue (NFR) by entering into an agreement with M/s. Picture Time Digiplex, New Delhi for permitting the company to set up the Mobile Digital Movie Theatre (MDMT) at eight railway stations over the Division i.e., Kacheguda, Malkajgiri, Bolarum, Kamareddi, Basar, Kurnool City & Mahbubnagar. Accordingly, the Mobile Digital Movie Theatre commenced screening operations today i.e., 14th December, 2018 at Kacheguda, with Shri Arun Kumar Jain, Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division gracing the inauguration. Shri M.Umashankar Kumar, Chief Public Relations Officer, SCR and other officials were also present on the occasion.
The Mobile Digital Movie Theater is licensed to set up in the circulating area of the eight railway stations. The theatre is a custom made and pre-calibrated inflated tent, which will screen new Hindi and Telugu movies, educational programs and interactive governance engagements. The theatre will be operational from 14th December, 2018 for a period of three months, offering Digital Movie screening experience on a big screen with dolby 5.1 surround sound ambience. The custom-made theatre incorporates best acoustics, with a seating capacity of 120-150 people.
The exhibiting company has taken the license for a period of three months at the eight railway stations, towards which a license fee of Rs.6, 61, 500/- (Rupees Six Lakhs Sixty one Thousand and Five Hundred only), has been paid accruing Non Fare Revenue to the Railways.
