A meeting was held with freight customers of Krishnapatnam Port today i.e., 22ndJanuary, 2019 at Rail Nilayam, South Central Railway Head Quarters to review the freight loading performance through rail from the port. Shri N. Madusudan Rao, Principal Chief Operations Manager, presided the meeting, Shri B. Nagya Naik, Chief Freight Transport Manager and other senior officials of Operating and Commercial Department were also present.
The meeting was conducted to review the freight loading at Krishnapatnam Port, which is one of the important ports served by South Central Railway.During the current financial year by the end of December, 2018 a staggering 15.19 Million tonnes were loaded from this port. The freight customers assured to continue the same trend of loading till end of the financial year with loading projection of 20.25 Million tonnes. Discussions were held in detail with port authorities and freight customers loading from this port to resolve the issues if any and advised to attain the targeted loading.
A power point presentation was also given narrating the various freight incentive schemes offered for the customers and requested to enhance the freight loading potential. During the meeting it is also discussed about the new railway line between Obulavaripalle - Krishnapatnam port which is going to be commissioned shortly and deliberated action plan for improvement in the loading.
Meeting was held in congenial atmosphere. Shri Anil Yendluri, Chief Executive Officer, Krishnapatnam Port, Shri Subba Rao, Chief Operations Officer, Krishnapatnam Port, Shri Sushil Nowal, Vice President, Jindal Steels and representatives from other major freight customers were amongst the present.
