“Man of the Month” Safety Awards Presented to 13 Employees by Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR

Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway presented “Man of the Month” safety awards to 13 employees for showing alertness in the duty and taking timely action to prevent unsafe conditions. He conducted a detailed review meeting o­n Safety, Punctuality and o­ngoing project works of the zone today i.e., 5th March, 2019 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principle Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions participated through video conference.

The General Manager advised all the Divisional Railway Managers to accord top priority for the safety and punctuality of the train services. He also instructed the officials to intensify the safety inspections of the identified vulnerable sections specially focusing o­n track maintenance, signaling systems, weld failures to avoid any unusual happenings. He also advised that all the Gate Men, Track Men, Loco Pilots and Guards should be regularly counseled through seminars and workshops to improve awareness o­n safety aspects. The General Manager instructed the divisions to review the fire safety systems o­n trains and at stations and strengthen the infrastructure to deal with the incidents of fire. The General Manger also reviewed the progress of the o­ngoing infrastructure, station redevelopment and passenger amenity related works etc, of the zone in detail and instructed the officials to take suitable steps to speed up the works.
