Accord Top Priority for Punctuality - Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR


Punctuality has to be accorded top priority along with ensuring safety of train movements, stressed Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway. He conducted a detailed review meeting o­n Punctuality, Safety and Passenger amenities etc today i.e., 11thMarch, 2019 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principle Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions participated through video conference. 

Shri Gajanan Mallya reviewed extensively o­n the punctuality position of trains running by the zone and  instructed the DRMs to keep focus o­n the same. He particularly emphasized o­n maintenance of over head equipment (OHE), signaling equipment, track maintenance and speed restrictions which have been identified as the causes for loss of the punctuality. He instructed to take all the possible measures to gear up the issues which have impact o­n the maintenance of punctuality. He advised to initiate proper action plan to improve the punctuality performance of the zone. While discussing o­n speed restrictions he instructed the officials to take all viable measures to improve the speed of the passenger and freight trains.

He also instructed the officials to focus o­n the passenger complaints with respect to pest control, linen supply and o­nboard housekeeping activities etc. He instructed all the Divisional Railway Managers to draw special attention o­n pest control and related issues o­n timely basis giving due priority in providing passenger comfort. Later, the RailTel officials made a brief presentation o­n the features of the e-office, the merits and its implementation o­n SCR.
