Accord Importance to System Improvement and Ensure Safety -Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, GM/SCR




Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railway emphasized o­n according importance to the system improvements to ensure safety in train operations. He was addressing a Video Conference of Divisional Railway Manager’s of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded from Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad today i.e. 6th March, 2017. Principal Heads of Departments were also present in the meeting.

The General Manager conducted a review meeting of safety, punctuality, progress of developmental projects and elimination of unmanned level crossings over the Zone. He called upon all the Zonal and Divisional officials to work o­n system improvements, specially referring to the recent incident of train jumping the signal at Janagaon. Officials should adhere to safety norms while doing inspections said the General Manager and asked them to record even the minute details in the safety report with proper remedies for the same.

Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav also stressed up o­n the punctuality of train movements for the entire Zone. The present punctuality rate of 96% needs to be further improved to achieve best results in passenger satisfaction. He informed the officials to check the feasibility of eliminating all unmanned level crossings by constructing Road under Bridges, limited height subways etc and should achieve the Board targets.

Shri D.K. Singh, Chief Safety Officer made a Power Point Presentation of Safety position o­n the Zone. Shri S.N. Singh, Principal Chief Engineer; Shri N. Madhusudana Rao, Chief Operations Manager; Smt. Padmini Radhakrishnan, FA & CAO; Shri M.S. Mahaboob Ali, Chief Signal & Telecommunications Engineer; Shri Arjun Mundiya, Chief Mechanical Engineer; Shri N.V. Ramana Reddy, Chief Personnel Officer were amongst the officials present.
