Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railway inaugurated 100 KWp on-Grid Solar Plant at Roof Top of Rail Nilayam, today i.e. on 8thMarch, 2017.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, SCR said that as part of the National Solar Mission of the Govt. of India, Railways has taken Green initiative to provide the Solar Plants on the roof top of all the Zonal Railways. The total cost of this plant is Rs. 70.17 lakhs and it consists of 02 power condition units and 360 Nos. of 280Wp Solar Panels. All the panels are provided on the roof area of A, B&D and C blocks of the Rail Nilayam, this is in addition to 40KWp already exists on the Rail Nilayam roof top.
Salient features of 100 KWp on-Grid Solar Plant:
ØGenerates approx. 450 units per day & 1.64 lakhs units per annum.
ØApproximately 40% of Rail Nilayam consumption is met with this plant.
ØTotal savings per annum is Rs. 13.02 lakhs approximately.
ØExpenditure payback period is approximately 51/2 years.
ØCO2 emission reduction is 131.2 MTS/annum.
ØIrradiance sensor and module temperature sensor are provided.
ØFoundations and support structure designed to withstand 150kmph.
ØManual control change is provided for seasonal changes.
ØRemote control monitoring facility.
