Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railway stated that the greater scenario of the condition of women in the society, anyone who holds concern for women should really work to empower them. It is the bounden duty of every individual and organization to raise to this task and play their role for perfection. He was speaking as the Chief Guest at a meeting held on the occasion of International Women’s Day, organized by South Central Railway Mazdoor Union (SCRMU) at Rail Nilayam Auditorium, Secunderabad today i.e., 9th March, 2017.
The General Manager also stated that SCR has taken several measures to make women employees feel cared like provision of complaint boxes at the Zonal Head quarters and Divisional offices for Women employees to drop their complaints, without the risk of any threat or discrimination. He assured that the achievements and efficiency of women employee will be given due recognition on the Zone.
Smt. Archana Yadav, President , SCR Women’s Welfare Organization said that International Women’s Day is the time to reflect on the progress made on issues concerning women and to call for change, wherever required. She remembered the theme chosen by the United Nations for the International Women’s Day 2017 –“Women in the changing world of work: Planet 50-50 by 2030” means to consider how to accelerate the sustainable development goals pertaining to the conditions of women, so as to attain results by 2030 completely. She apprehended that women in India are deprived of proper health and medical care, which is a matter of serious concern.
Prof. Lakshmi, Former Director, Centre for Women Studies, Osmania University delivered key note address, Shri. N.V.Ramana Reddy, Chief Personnel Officer, SCR; Shri K.Srinivas, President, SCRMU, Shri Sankara Rao, General Secretary, SCRMU, Smt. T. Kalavathi, Zonal Women’s co-ordinator, SCR MU also spoke on the occasion.
