SCR Wins 75th All India Inter Railway Men Hockey Championship

 

The South Central Railway Men Hockey Team bagged Championship Trophy at the 75thAll India Inter Railway Hockey championship held at Guwahati. Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railway congratulated the team members for the achievement.

The South Central Railway Men Hockey team participated in the 75th All India Inter Railway Men Hockey championship (league stage) held at Gachibowli Hockey Stadium, Hyderabad and emerged as pool toppers and qualified for the Knockout stage defeating Rail Wheel Factory (12-0), Diesel Locomotive Works (13-2), South Western Railway (8-0) and Central Railway by 2-0. Later, in Later, in the knockout stage held at Guwahati, SCR defeated South Eastern Railway by 7-0 in the Quater Finals and defeated Western Railway 1-0 in the Semi-Finals.

In the grand finale, South Central Railway beat defending champions Rail Coach Factory (RCF) by 4-1 in the final of the 75th All India Inter Railway Men Hockey Championship.

* Mr. Ajit Kumar Pandey is the member of Junior Indian Hockey team, which won Junior Hockey World Cup “player of the tournament”. 8 players of South Central Railway Hockey team were selected as probables for Indian Railways Hockey team.
