GUNTAKAL

History:

Guntakal Townis one of the seven Municipal Towns in Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh and the Railway Hospital started during the year 1908 to cater to the railway population .  This hospital started with two doctors, one Pharmacist and one Peon and had 6 beds.  The bed strength rose from 22 in 1942, 28 in 1949, 59 in 1957, 75 in 1962, 105 in 1966 and 131 beds in 1981 onwards. Guntakal Division was formed in 1956 as part of Southern Railway and was transferred to South Central Railway on 2.10.1977

Extent:

      Medical department of Guntakal Division consists of Divisional Railway Hospital, Guntakal 131 bedded and 10 health units.  There are two major health units one at Gooty and another at CRS/Tirupati. This division is covering- Anantapur, Kurnool, Kadapa, Chittoor and part of Nelloredistricts of Andhra Pradesh and part of Raichur district of Karnataka state.

·Periodical intensive cleaning of all A&B class stations taken by all departments (Medical, Engineering , Electrical) where in through cleaning of entire station plat forms tracks, including removal of cobwebs, glass  cleaning, fans and electrical fittings cleaning to be done.  The entire activity will be coordinated by station manager and a record will be maintained about the intensive cleaning in a separate register.

1. LAW item No.373 – Year 2009-10 New OT & ICU at Railway Hospital, Guntakal – cost  Rs.1,01,75,000.  Work in progress.

2. LAW item No 143 – Year 2010-11 - New  Laboratory at Railway Hospital, Guntakal – cost Rs.30,00,000.  Contract awarded – work not started  due to lack of funds.

3. LAW item no 511 – Year 2011-12 – Up gradation to 50 bedded hospital, CRS Tirupati – Anticipated cost 5,25,60,000. Work abolished due to lack of funds.
