         Sri S.R.GANDHI, Sr.DSC is holding the charge of the Division on 30.03.15. He is assisted by two ASCs. Sri A.K.Tyagi, ASC/BZA took charge on 21.09.2015. His jurisdiction covers BZA HQrs, BZA-GDR, BZA-MTM (branch line).  The post of ASC/RJY was created w.e.f. 02.03.2006. Present incumbent Sri Nagesh Nautiyal, ASC/RJY took charge on 29.09.2015. ASC/RJY jurisdiction covers VSKP-BZA, GDV-NS (branch line), NS-NDD (branch line) and SLO-COA (branch line) section.

Vijayawada Division

There are 12 open line Posts viz Anakapalle, Kakinada Town, Rajahmundry, Bhimavaram, Eluru, Vijayawada, Up-yard, Rayanapadu, Tenali, Chirala, Ongole and Nellore.

There are 14 Out-posts viz Visakhapatnam, Tuni, Samalkot,  Rajamundry Memu Car Shed, Narasapur, Nidadavole, Tadepalligudem, Gudivada, Electrical Loco Shed, Tadepalli, Bapatla, Kavali, Bitragunta and Gudur.


The jurisdiction of BZA Division extends from

Ø Gudur (incl) at K.M.No.134.30 to Duvvada (Excluding) at K.M.No.759.7

Ø Vijayawada (incl) at K.M.No.586.5 to Kondapalli (incl) at K.M.No.568

Ø Vijayawada (incl) at K.M.No.0.0 to Gudivada (incl) at K.M.No.42.69 (Branch line)

Ø Gudivada (incl) at K.M.No.0.0 to Machilipatnam (incl) at K.M.No.36.70

Ø Bhimavaram (incl) at K.M.No.0.0 to Narasapur (incl) at K.M.No.29.46 (Branch line)

Ø Vijayawada (incl)at K.M.No.0.0 – Bhimavaram –Nidadavolu (incl) at K.M.No.154.75  (Branch line)

Ø Samalkot (incl) at K.M.No.0.00 to – Kakinada at K.M.No.15.60 (Branch line)


Ø RPF armed escorts are deputed in important and vulnerable trains running in the  night time over BZA Division.

Ø Thorough briefing is done for RPF train escort parties to ensure the security of      passengers in trains.

Ø Special teams have been formed to detect reported offences in co-ordination with    GRP.

Ø Go’s are conducting surprise checks on performance of the escort parties.


Ø Metal detectors areused by RPF staff at all important major stations over BZA    Division.

Ø Armed patrolling is done at BZA R.S during the red-alert.

Ø Bullet-proof morchas are provided at BZA R.S.

Ø Frequent announcement are made to alert the passengers in regard unclaimed  articles.

Ø Close liaison is maintained with GRP/Local police.


Ø Passenger awareness campaigns are conducted alerting traveling public against  drugging.

Ø Ensured regular announcements on PA system.

Ø Ensured display of video clippings on drugging in platforms & waiting hall TVs.

Ø Notified the drugging trend to all staff and subordinates officers in running trains.

Ø Conducted decoy checks in important and vulnerable trains.

Ø Alerted train escorting staff to keep sharp look out for drugging offenders in  running trains.

Ø Use of mega phones to educate passengers by RPF staff is ensured.

Ø Collected crime intelligence to catch the drugging gangs by deploying staff in plain cloths in co-ordination with GRP.
