- 500 LPM Oxygen plant setup to meet oxygen emergencies
Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR inaugurated Oxygen Generation plant with a capacity of 500 LPM (Liters per Minute) at Central Railway Hospital, Lallaguda. The new oxygen plant inaugurated is in addition to the existing 13 KL capacity tanker to meet the oxygen emergencies of the patients undergoing treatment at Central Hospital, Lallaguda. Shri Arun Kumar Jain, Additional General Manager, SCR; Dr. Prasanna Kumar, Principal Chief Medical Director, SCR, Shri Sharat Chandrayan, Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad, Dr. C.K. Venkateswarlu, Medical Director, Central Hospital, Lallaguda were present during the occasion.
Brief about Central Hospital, Lallaguda
Central Hospital, Lallaguda is the major hospital on SCR and catering the medical needs of the railway employees of both working and retired and their dependents. Apart from Outpatient facility, 350 bedded inpatient facilities are also available at this hospital and treatment is being given covering all major diseases relating to Cardiology, General Medicine, General Surgery, OBG, ENT, Ophthalmology, Laparoscopic surgeries, Neuro surgery, Urology with 24 hour dialysis facility.
Brief about tackling covid-19 and Oxygen Therapy
Central Hospital, Lallaguda has been opened for full fledge in patient treatment for Covid patients among Railway beneficiaries. For this, 250 beds were set up out of which around 70 beds are having Intensive Care with HFNO, BIPAP and ventilator facility. More than 4400 patients have been treated till date with maximum recovery rate. 263 medical and paramedical staff have been deployed exclusively for Covid treatment. Oxygen therapy is one of the vital components of Covid-19 management. At present, 13 KL capacity oxygen tanker is available which is being refilled every day. To cater the additional requirement, 500 LPM oxygen generation plant has been set up which is inaugurated by General Manager.
Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager has also conducted intensive inspection of the entire Hospital and reviewed about the facilities available along with the treatment being given for the patients with Principal Chief Medical Director. He complemented all the Officials and staff of Hyderabad Division and Central Hospital for taking initiative in setting up of oxygen plant, which is very much useful in saving lives during emergencies.
