Webinar held on Independent India @75, as part of Vigilance Awareness week
South Central Railway organized a Webinar today on Independent India @75: Self Reliance with Integrity, as the part of the Vigilance Awareness Week – 2021 being observed over the Zone. Prof. Mallesh Sankasala, Vice Chancellor, Satavahana University and Prof. K. Nageswar, Department of Communication & Journalism, Osmania University participated in the program as Guest Speakers. Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway presided over the Webinar. Shri Arun Kumar Jain, Additional General Manager, Ms. Chandrima Roy, Senior Deputy General Manager & Chief Vigilance Officer and other Officers and Staff participated in the program.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Gajanan Mallya stated that to achieve self-reliance with integrity, one needs inner confidence and courage which will lead to success in all spheres of life. An individual with self-belief, humility, adaptability and focused approach will make him/her self-reliant and the people responsible for governance can bring a culture of self-reliance for the organization.
He stated that SCR’s digital initiatives like e-procurement, e-auction, e-tendering, e-payments etc., have made processes simpler and have eliminated most of the complaints. He called upon to be self-reliant and Atmanirbhar which are applicable to all levels – be it individual, Organizational or National. He stressed upon everyone to be responsible and responsive while dealing with customers, which is vital for the growth of any organization. He highlighted the several dimensions of Atmanirbhar Bharat concept which were crucial not only in tackling Covid Pandemic but also instrumental in SCR ensuring that the essential commodity supply chain kept moving in the testing times.
Prof. Mallesh Sankasala, Vice Chancellor, Satavahana University stated that Integrity, Ethical working practices and promoting National Integration are to be adopted to eradicate corruption in the society which is the need of the hour. He emphasized on the importance of social, cultural & legal morals for a healthy society. He stressed that Self-reliant India can be achieved with all inclusive governance.
Prof. K. Nageswar stated that overcoming social inequality is paramount. He said India has come a long way in technological advancements and is now not only on par with other countries but also ahead in some aspects, since Indian Independence. He stressed upon to re-invent ourselves to achieve the set goals. Transparency, procedure simplification & creating awareness are essential to eradicate corruption.
Ms. Chandrima Roy, Senior Deputy General Manager & Chief Vigilance Officer of South Central Railway welcomed the gathering and elaborated the activities of the Vigilance department. She informed that Vigilance department is creating awareness among all employees by conducting seminars and personal interactions.
On this Occasion, Shri Gajanan Mallya released the Vigilance Bulletin “Animisha” during the Webinar. He complimented the school children who participated in the series of competitions on Vigilance awareness and National Integrity. The Principal Heads of the Departments, Divisional Railway Managers of all the six divisions and senior officials participated in the webinar through video conference.
