PR No. 167 - SCR Receives 05 All India Performance Efficiency Shields at 67th Railway Week Celebrations



South Central Railway achieved the utmost recognition at National Level by bagging five All India Performance Efficiency Shields” the highest among all Zones across Indian Railways at the 67th Railway Week Awards function held at Rail Auditorium, Bhubaneswar yesterday i.e., o­n 28th May, 2022. In recognition of the exceptional performance displayed by the Zone during the last year, SCR has been bestowed with All India Performance Efficiency shields for Security; Comprehensive Health Care; Civil Engineering; Stores and Civil Engineering (Construction) Departments.

The Shields were presented by Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Minister of Railways during the function held. Shri V K Tripathi, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Railway Board and senior officials were also present o­n the occasion.

Speaking o­n the occasion, Shri Vaishnaw stressed o­n the transformation of Indian Railways for better future which would help in the growth of Indian Economy to attain new heights. He said that transformation of Railways could change the scenario of Indian Economy. In the regard, the Hon'ble Ministry stressed o­n the need for rapid absorption of technology for upgrading rolling stock, construction works, safety and cyber security.

Shri Vaishnaw stressed o­n the importance of investment for the development of Railways. He said that, the Government is making efforts to increase the investment in Railways since 2014 and this year it has reached o­ne Lakh 37 Thousand Crore Rupees. He also informed that with a view to prioritise projects under the PM Gati Shakti Scheme, the Ministry of Railways has set up a new directorate under the Railway Board.

Earlier, Shri V. K. Tripathi, Chairman & CEO of Railway Board in his welcome address spoke about the transformational development happening in the Indian Railways in recent days.

Altogether, 156 Railway Employees from various Zonal Railways all over the country received the outstanding certificates and awards from the Railway Minister. Apart from this, 21 Shields were also given to various Railways, Production Units & Railway PSUs for their outstanding performance and efficiencies.

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager (In-Charge) along with the concerned Principal Heads of the Departments (Shri Raja Ram (Security Shield); Shri V. Sudhakar Rao (Stores Shield); Shri Sanjiv Agarwal (Civil Engineering Shield); Shri Amit Goel (Civil Engineering Construction Shield) and Dr. C.K. Venkateswarlu (Comprehensive Health Care Shield) received the Shields from the Hon’ble Railway Minister.

Five Officers and five Staff of SCR viz., Dr. S. Sunil Kumar, Additional Divisional Medical Officer, Central Hospital; Shri R. Viswanath Reddy, Senior Divisional Telecom Engineer, Vijayawada Division; Shri Mothilal Bhookya, Senior Divisional Engineer (Co-ord), Hyderabad Division; Smt. Priya Agarwal, Deputy Chief Signal & Telecom Engineer (Projects); SCR and Shri Suresh Reddy Awtala, Divisional Operations Manager, Secunderabad Division. Shri T.S. Chandra Sekhar Reddy, Inspector, RPF, Vijayawada Division; Shri Jaya Prakash, Sr. Section Engineer, Carriage Repair Shop, Tirupati; Shri K.V. Srinivasu, Sr. Section Officer, Accounts, Headquarters; Shri G.H.Prasad, Loco Pilot (Passenger), and Shri B. Sreenivas Goud, Loco Pilot (Goods), Secunderabad Division were the recipients of the Individual awards from the hands of Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Hon’ble Railway Minister for their outstanding meritorious performance during the previous year.

On this occasion, Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager (In-Charge), SCR congratulated and appreciated the team of Officials & Staff for their dedication which led to the Zone achieving outstanding results and results amongst the all the Zones o­n Indian Railways. He expressed his happiness for bagging five numbers of performance efficiency shields in various disciplines. He also congratulated the staff and officers who have been bestowed with individual awards and appreciated their commendable performance.
