PR No. 480 - Shri Arun Kumar Jain, GM (In-Charge), SCR Holds Safety and Performance Review Meeting

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager (In-Charge), South Central Railway conducted a review meeting o­n safety and performance of the zone today i.e., 22nd August, 2022 along with Principal heads of the departments at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Divisional Railway Managers of all six divisions Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded participated in the meeting through video conference.

Shri Arun Kumar Jain reviewed various action plans being implemented across the zone to ensure safety of train operations and punctuality of trains. He emphasized o­n focused adherence of monsoon precautions to ensure smooth running of trains during heavy rains. The General Manager also reviewed the status of various safety drives undertaken by the zone, he instructed the officials to further enhance the supervision by conducting frequent field inspections to ensure compliance of worksite safety requirements without fail. He also reviewed the status of regular training and counseling sessions being imparted to safety staff including loco pilots and assistant loco pilots.

The General Manager also held a detailed review o­n raising the permissible speed of train operations to 110 Kmph o­n the new lines commissioned in the last five years and examined the progress o­n these identified routes. He also reviewed the prevailing speed restrictions over the zone and advised the officials to remove them with necessary works to the possible extent wherever feasible, so as to further speed up the movement of trains. Shri Arun Kumar Jain also advised the officials to expedite the infrastructure and electrification works across the zone, so as to meet the targets set for the current financial year.

Later, Shri Arun Kumar Jain also reviewed the implementation of NGT (National Green Tribunal) guidelines at Railway stations and Goods sheds across the zone. He advised the officials to ensure strict compliance of action plans for energy conservation and water management at Railway establishments.
