PR No. 553 - General Manager (In-Charge), SCR Participates in ‘Swachh Rail’ Cleanliness Drive at Secunderabad Railway Station

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager (In-Charge), South Central Railway took part in the Swachh Rail cleanliness drive at Secunderabad Railway station today i.e., 21st September, 2022 as part of the o­ngoing Swachhata Pakhawara Fortnight Cleanliness Campaign which commenced o­n 16th September, 2022. Shri Abhay Kumar Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division, other senior Railway officials and staff also participated in the program.

Shri Arun Kumar Jain led the Swachh Railgaadi Abhiyan at Secunderabad Railway station, wherein he administered the Swachhata Pledge and undertook cleanliness activity in the circulating area along with Railway officials and Rail users. Further, he inspected the cleanliness of coaches in Train No. 17016 Secunderabad – Bhubaneswar Visakha Express and interacted with the passengers to collect feedback. The General Manager also distributed cloth bags to the passengers to spread awareness o­n adopting new environmental friendly measures and also to discourage use of single-use plastic.

Further, the General Manager headed the Swachhata Rally from PF No. 01 to PF No. 10 of Secunderabad Railway station. He also witnessed the Nukkad Natak show which was performed by Railway employees at the Railway station to highlight the importance of cleanliness and spread awareness among the public. Later, the General Manager took part in tree plantation program to promote green environment and eco-friendly activities. Shri Arun Kumar Jain inspected various cleaning machine equipments utilized for the upkeep of cleanliness at the station. He also interacted with safai karamcharis to know their working conditions and grievances.

Speaking o­n the occasion, Shri Arun Kumar Jain advised the staff to maintain and ensure the best cleanliness standards in trains and Railway stations. He stated that high priority should be accorded to cleanliness and we should all work towards achieving the ‘Swachh Rail Swachh Bharat’ mission. He also informed the Rail users to refrain from littering in Railway premises and stated that we should always strive to keep our surroundings clean, wherever we are, whether it is at home, college, workplace or Railway stations.
