Accord Priority for Cleanliness along with Safety of the Trains - Shri Arun Kumar Jain, GM, SCR

-General Manager holds Safety Review Meeting

Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway held a detailed safety review meeting o­n train operations and cleanliness of the trains across the zone today i.e., 12th February, 2024 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Shri R. Dhananjayulu, Additional General Manager, SCR also participated in the meeting along with all the Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded joined the review meeting through video conference.

 The General Manager specially emphasized o­n the cleanliness of the trains during the review and advised all the Divisional Managers to focus o­n the maintenance of the cleanliness inside the trains. He instructed the officials to put best efforts for maintaining cleanliness inside the trains by improving standards of the o­n Board Cleaning mechanism. He also instructed the officials to closely monitor the pit line working to ensure timely disposal of trains for operations.

The General Manager also reviewed the safety of train operations over the zone. He instructed the officials to ensure the safe running of the trains. He advised regular counseling to the staff like loco pilots, assistant loco pilots and staff who are involved in the working of train operations. He also advised the officials to conduct regular counseling with the family members of the running staff to address the grievances if any, so that it may help the system to run the trains operations safely. Officials informed the General Manager o­n availability of the safety related stock like Smoke detecting devises, Fire Extinguishers etc., over the zone. He instructed the officials to maintain adequate stocks in the depots to meet the unusual exigencies.

Shri Arun Kumar Jain also stressed upon the progress of track renewal works. He instructed the DRM’s to follow all the safety related precautions to be adopted while attending maintenance works to ensure safe running of the trains. He instructed officials to maintain the optimal utilization of the track and advised the officials to make action plans to maintain the best possible speed of the trains to ensure best output in passenger’s transportation and freight segment.
