Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister Dedicates Ambari – Adilabad – Pimpalkhuti Electrification Project To The Nation


-The Hon’ble Prime Minister inaugurated, dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone for multiple developmental projects worth more than Rs 56,000 crores in Adilabad, Telangana today.

Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister dedicated the Electrification project of Ambari – Adilabad – Pimpalkhuti to the nation today i.e., 04th March, 2024 at a function held at Adilabad. The Hon’ble Prime Minister inaugurated, dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone for multiple developmental projects related to power, Rail and road sectors worth more than Rs 56,000 crores. Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, Hon’ble Governor, Telangana; Shri A. Revanth Reddy, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Telangana; Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Union Minister for culture, Tourism and Development of North Eastern Region; Shri Soyam Bapu Rao, Hon’ble Member MP, Adilabad; Shri Payal Shanker, Hon’ble MLA, Adilabad and other dignitaries graced the occasion. Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR and other senior officials were also present.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Narendra Modi stated that the land of Adilabad is becoming a witness to development projects related not o­nly to Telangana but to the entire country as 30 development projects worth more than Rs 56,000 crores are being dedicated to the nation/foundation stones are being laid today. The Prime Minister noted that the Central Government is providing all assistance to Telangana state to realize the dreams of its citizens. He mentioned the completion of electrification of Ambari - Adilabad - Pimpalkhuti rail lines and the foundation stone laying for two major National Highway projects in Adilabad, Bela and Mulugu. The Prime Minister underlined that these modern rail and road projects will give momentum to the development of Telangana as well as the entire region, while also reducing travel time, encouraging tourism and creating countless employment opportunities. The Prime Minister informed, the 800 MW capacity NTPC Unit 2 has been inaugurated which will further boost the electricity generation capacity of Telangana.

The Prime Minister reiterated the mantra of nation’s development through the development of the states. He said that with a better economy, trust in the country grows and states also benefit from that as they get investment. He mentioned the global buzz around the high growth rate of the Indian economy as India is the o­nly major economy that has grown by 8.4 percent in the last quarter. “With this speed, India will become the world’s third-largest economy”, said the Prime Minister, which will also mean high growth for the economy of Telangana also, he added. 

Speaking o­n the occasion, Shri A. Revanth Reddy thanked the Hon’ble Prime Minister for inaugurating/dedicating various infrastructure developmental projects in the State of Telangana. He stated that these important projects related to energy, environment sustainability, rail and road connectivity will be beneficial to the people of the region. He informed that the State Government will work together with centre towards the development of Telangana state.

During welcome address, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Union Minister expressed his happiness as multiple developmental projects worth Rs 56,000 crores have been inaugurated and dedicated to Nation today. He stated that under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister projects worth Rs. 10 Lakh crores have been taken up in Telangana state in the last ten years. He informed about various Rail developmental projects undertaken in the state including Rail Manufacturing Unit at Warangal, upgradation of 40 Amrit stations etc.,. The government is fully committed to the overall development of Telangana, he added.

The Ambari – Adilabad – Pimpalkhuti Electrification is part of the Mudkhed – Pimpalkhuti Electrification works project. The electrification for this section is sanctioned for a length of 182 Route Kms at an estimated cost of Rs. 206 Crores. The 58 Route km (71 track kms) of Ambari – Adilabad – Pimpalkhuti section has been electrified at a cost of approximately Rs. 70 crores. Electrification of this railway line facilitates seamless rail connectivity from Adilabad towards Hyderabad / Secunderabad, Bengaluru in the South as well as Nagpur and beyond in the North. It will also avoid detention of trains o­n account of traction change thereby improving the average speed of both passenger and freight trains. It also helps the farm sector in the Adilabad and surrounding areas by providing safe, fast and economical transportation to their products like cotton, chillies, pulses and maize.
