ELECTRICAL GENERAL SERVICES
Organization structure
Headed by Sr. DEE/M/HYB and Assisted by ADEE/I/M & ADEE/II/M
Electrical (GS) branch is responsible for electrical maintenance of 5084 quarters with prominent service buildings and water pumping requirement at Hyderabad area. In addition to it the maintenance of electrical portion of 410 TL, 86 AC coaches based at KCG depot and Electrical System Training Centre (ESTC) is also under Electrical (GS) organization. Branch is headed by One JAG officer and assisted by Two ADEEs.
Role of SSE/Electrical Maintenance:
SSE/EM is responsible for electrical maintenance of all the electrical assets like HT/LT substations, stations, Hospitals, LC gates, yards, Loco Sheds, Goods yards, training institutes and staff quarters. He is also responsible ensuring of uninterrupted power supply to the users in his jurisdiction.
Role of SSE/Domestic Air Conditioning:
SSE/AC is responsible for maintenance and ensuring working of all the Domestic AC units, Water coolers and Refrigerators in service buildings and stations over the division.
Role of SSE/Pumps:
SSE/Pumps is responsible for maintenance and ensuring functioning of all the Pumping installations and DG sets in service buildings, LC gates, stations, training institutes, staff quarters, loco sheds and yards over the division.
Role of SSE/Train Lighting:
SSE/Train Lighting is responsible for maintenance and ensuring working of electrical assets like lighting equipment, Fans and mobile charging sockets, Passenger announcement system etc. in in all Non-AC coaches of primary and secondary maintained trains and passed through trains.
Role of SSE/Air Conditioning:
SSE/AC is responsible for maintenance and ensuring working of electrical assets like AC equipment, lighting equipment, Fans and mobile charging sockets, Passenger announcement system etc. in in all AC coaches of primary and secondary maintained trains and passed through trains.

Achievements during the financial year 2020-21
i. Achieved 3-Energy Efficient Buildings awards during CII 21st National Awards
for Excellence in Energy Management 2020.
ii. Achieved Silver Award for Lekha Bhavan in Office Building category during
Telangana State Energy Conservation Awards 2020.
iii.Achieved Certificate of Merit Award for Lekha Bhavan in Office Building
category during BEE National Energy Conservation Awards 2020.
iv. Achieved overall reduction in energy consumption by 16.18% compared to
last year.
v. Provided smart metering at 2475 residential quarters over the Division.
vi.Commissioned 07 lifts i.e., at STPD – 03, BSX – 02, and KRNT-02.
vii.Improved façade lighting of Rail Nilayam Building.
viii. Provided 6No.s of touch less RO water coolers at Central Hospital.

Inauguration of 20kWp Solar Power Plant at MBNR
20kWp solar power plant which is making Health Unit and SSE/PWay/MBNR office Energy Neutral was inaugurated by our beloved General Manager Shri. Gajanan Mallya during inspection of SC-DHNE section. GM has appreciated the efforts put by Electrical General Services Department towards energy conservation.

1.2kWp solar power plant fed solar pump at PDO was inaugurated by our beloved General Manager Shri. Gajanan Mallya during inspection of SC-DHNE section. GM has appreciated the efforts put by Electrical General Services Department in harnessing solar energy.
