Vision and Mission

Diesel Loco Shed, Moula-ali, are committed to continual improvement of its integrated Quality, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety management system by providing preventive Maintenance and Repair practices of Diesel Electric Locomotives, DEMUs and SPARTs and minimizing the adverse effects on the environment and employees and others by complying with applicable environmental and occupational health and safety legislation, regulation and other requirements.

Key Objectives:

  • Customer complaints and feedback will be taken and action will be initiated to meet their expectations.
  • Timely attention and dispatch of locos/DEMUs to minimize in effectiveness
  • Regular failure meetings shall be conducted with the section supervisors and staff to analyse and control recurrences
  • Commitment to prevention of injury and ill health and continual improvement in OH&S management and OH&S performance
  • Identify Activities which Could Impact the Environment and Assemble List of Aspects and Impacts  Develop Significance Criteria and Identify Significant  Aspects/Impacts

Functions of Organisation:

The core activity of Diesel Loco Shed, Moula-Ali is maintenance of Diesel Electric Locomotives and Diesel Electric Multiple Units (DEMU). Also maintains Self Propelled Accident Relief Train, Self-Propelled Medical Relief Van, Self-Propelled Inspection Car and 140 Tons Capacity Break-down Crane.

Brief History of Diesel Loco Shed, Moula-Ali, Hyderabad:

Diesel Loco Shed, Moula-Ali was established in the year 1979 to maintain YDM1R & YDM2 locomotives and located at a distance of 7 Km from Rail Nilayam. Earlier, this shed was maintaining meter gauge and Broad gauge hydraulic locomotives. Further the activities of the shed had got expanded and from the year 2002, WDM2 main line locos were homed for maintenance. Presently the holding has increased to 71 locos. In addition to the locos, the shed is also holding 16 DEMU Rakes meeting the demand of sub-urban traffic. The shed also maintains Accident Relief Equipment's viz. SPART, SPMRV and 140 T BD crane of Secunderabad Division.

2. Power and Duties of Officers and Employees:

Powers and Duties of Officers:

a) Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer: Incharge of Organisation.  

   Duties: a) Overall administration of Diesel Loco Shed, Moula-Ali, b) Planning and monitoring of Rolling Stock schedules, c) to ensure optimum throughput and reliability of services, d) measures to improve Safety and Reliability of Rolling Stock being maintained, e) Maintain discipline and cordial industrial relations, f) Periodical inspection of Rolling Stock and establishment, g) Control over expenditure and inventory, h) Effective way of Materials Management, Personnel Management, Tenders and contracts management, i) to ensure all the applicable acts and norms, j) Implementation of Rajbhasha, k) Encourage sports, l) Planning of infrastructural developments, etc.

b) Assistant Divisional Mechanical Engineer (M): Incharge of Mechanical Sections and other duties entrusted by Sr DME

      Duties: a) To assist Sr.DME in day to day functioof the shed and ensure duties entrusted time to time, b) Shall super check all the outgoing locos/DEMUs/Other Rolling Stock, c) Regular monitorinof shift stores for the availability of materials concerned, d) Carryout the failure analysis and preparatioof system failure reportfor all the failure cases concerned and ensure prompt disposaof reportecaseto HQs, e) Scrutinizinof NS item demands of materials concerned and requiremencertification, f) Ensure physical availability of unit exchange spares with proper accountal, g) Review the AAC of stockeitems oZERO basis at stipulated intervals, h) Exerciscontroover consumptioof oilangrease, i) to ensure all the applicable acts and norms, j) Implementation of Rajbhasha, k) Encourage sports, l) Regular interactionwith crew ancontrollers to resolve problems relateto locos/DEMUs of DLS/MLY, m) Ensure compliance of all InspectioNotes issued at all levels, n)Ensure the targets issued.
