CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE IN ENERGY EFFICIENCY

1. PUMPING PERFORMANCE SYSTEM:

Experiments on Submersible  and monoblock pumps can be done how to conserve energy with VVVF mode in four different operations viz.

· Individual run (monoblock)

                · Individual run (submersible)

                ·Series operation and parallel operations

2. MOTOR PERFORMANCE SYSTEM:

Experiments on conventional  and energy efficient motors can be done how to conserve energy with VVVF mode in eight different operations viz.

·Conventional motor (with DOL&VVVF modes)

·Energy efficient motor (with DOL&VVVF modes)

·Conventional motor with Power Factor control

·Energy efficient motors with harmonic study and without harmonic study

3. HVAC LAB:

Nine Experiments with regard to heating ventilation and air conditioning testing study unit can be done so as to assess the psychometric parameters duly connected with computer software.

1

Sensible heating

4

Sensible cooling with Pre and Re-cooler ON

7

COP test variable load

2

Sensible cooling pre-cooler - ON

5

Humidification with water sprayer

8

COP test variable duct fan speed

3

Sensible cooling re-cooler - ON

6

Humidification with Fogger

9

COP test variable condenser fan speed

4. COMPRESSOR SYSTEM:

Experiments with conventionaland energy efficient motors with DOL mode and VVVF modes can be done to conserve energy

Further,

Three more tests can be done viz.

·Leakage quantification test (how much energy loss due to leakage)

·Pressure reduction on power consumption test

·Performance test
