    OPERATING DEPARTMENT

The Operating Department in Nanded division is responsible for the safe and efficient planning, management, and execution of train operations, including timetabling, rolling stock availability, and ensuring safe running conditions. 

ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE OF OPERATING DEPARTMENT

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

Following are the main role of operating department:

 Planning and Timetabling:

The department plans both long-term and short-term transportation services, including developing train schedules and timetables. 

      Train Operations:

They are responsible for the day-to-day running of trains, ensuring they operate according to schedule and that all safety protocols are followed. 

     Rolling Stock Management:

The Operating Department ensures the availability and proper maintenance of rolling stock (trains, locomotives, and wagons) to meet the expected demand and conditions for safe running. 

    Freight Operations:

They are responsible for the allotment of goods stock and the running of goods trains. 

    Safety:

The department prioritizes safety and ensures that all safety rules and regulations are followed. 

    Staff Management:

They are responsible for the management of staff involved in train operations, including train controllers, station masters, and other operational staff. 

  Incident Management:

The department is responsible for promptly attending to accidents, assuming charge of the site, and assisting in relief measures, ensuring prompt evacuation of injured and stranded passengers. 

 Public Complaints:

They investigate public complaints and take appropriate action to prevent recurrence.
