Commercial Department is the front line department serving the Customers and an earning department selling the transportation products of Railways. It plays an important role in delivery of services produced by Railways to the rail users through the vast network of Booking Offices, Passenger Reservation Centres, Parcel Offices and Goods Sheds. In the role of Marketing and Sales arm of Indian Railways, it is responsible for attracting new traffic, its encashment and retention of existing traffic.
Commercial Department is headed by Principal Chief Commercial Manager (PCCM) at the Zonal Level. PCCM is assisted by Chief Commercial Manager (Catering & Passenger Services), Chief Commercial Manager (Freight Services) and Chief Claims Officer. The six Divisions of the Zone (Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded) is headed by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager who is responsible for the Commercial activities at the Divisional Level
