Functions

Maintenance of all major service buildings like Rail Nilayam, Hyderabad Bhavan, S&T workshop/Mettuguda, G&S Stores depot / Mettuguda, Diesel shed / Moula Ali, ECS/MLY, IRISET, Rail Club, ZTC/MLY, Central Hospital / Lallaguda etc and all Railway colonies of Twin city area consisting of 5351 quarters.

Maintenance of Track on Secunderabad to Dhone section and Secunderabad to Mudkhed section along with branch lines on Jankampet to Bodhan, Gadwal to Raichur, Devarkadra to Krishna, Manoharabad to Siddipet and Akanapet to Medak stations (Total Running Track Km – 935.890 Km)

Estates Portion in Twin Cities:

Hyderabad Division is the custodian of all major service buildings like Rail Nilayam, Hyderabad Bhavan, S&T workshop / Mettuguda, G&S Stores depot / Mettuguda, Diesel shed / Moula Ali, EMU Car shed/Moula Ali, IRISET, Rail Club, ZTC/Moula Ali, Central Hospital / Lallaguda etc. At the same time all the Railway colonies of Secunderabad / Hyderabad Twin city area consisting of 5351 quarters are also under the control of Hyderabad Division.

 

TRACK

 

Hyderabad Division starts at Km 1.00 (Excl Secunderabad) and ends at Km 296.00 (Excl Dhone). Starts at Km 619.700 ( Excl Secunderabad) and ends at Km 373.400 (Excl Mudkhed). Starts at Km 0.0 ( Incl Jankampet Junction) and ends at Km 20.050 (Incl Bodhan), Starts at km 57.160.(Incl Gadwal) and ends at km 1.55 (Excl Raichur), Starts at Km 65.74 (Devarkadra) and ends at km 0.00 (Excl Krishna), Starts at Km 0.00 (Manoharabad) and ends at Km 75.20 (Siddipet), Starts at Km 0.00 (Akanapet) and ends at Km 17.20 (Incl Medak).

 

 New lines / Doubling

1.Manoharabad – Kothapalli Section ( New line) – Section between Manoharabad to Siddipet stations (75.20 Km) is commissioned and further work between Manoharabad to Kothapalli is in progress

2.Doubling between Mudkhed – Medchal Section – Section between Basar – Navipet stations (14.56 Km ) is completed and commissioned in Feb’26

3.Doubling between Mahabubnagar – Dhone Section –  Section between Mahabubnagar – Manyamkonda stations is completed and commissioned on 18.04.2026.

HIGHLIGHTS / IMPROVEMENTS

PROGRESS OF IMPORTANT SAFETY RELATED WORKS  2025-26

 

• The work of CTR (P) with PQRS machine has been carried out on SC-DHNE section and a cumulative progress of 60.657 Km has been achieved in 2025-26 against target of 54.454 Km.
 
• The work of TRR (P) has been carried out on SC-MUE section and a cumulative progress of 84.865 Km has been achieved in 2025-26 against target of 74.00 Km.
• The work of Manual CTR (P) with the help of Road Cranes was taken up on MJF-MLY chord line duly taking 04 Nos of Mega Blocks of 04 Hrs each, since the site was on sharp curve of 8 Degree with wide Gauge sleepers. Progress achieved is 5.960 Km.


• The work of Deep Screening of Plain Track with BCM has been taken and a cumulative progress of 46.050 Km has been achieved against the target of 45.00 Km in 2025-26.

 
• Deep screening of Points & Crossings has been taken up on SC-DHNE section and a Cumulative progress- 39 Pts has been achieved.
 
• Defective Layout correction – Layout correction for a total of 19 Defective Layouts has been completed against the target of 14 Layouts in 2025-26.

• The work of Through Formation Treatment has been taken up and a Cumulative progress of 7.790 Km has been achieved. 

• RUB Works – RUB’s at 15 LC gates have been completed and commissioned against the target of 13 LC gates in 2025-26.

•  Elimination of Level Crossing gates – A total of 06 Level Crossing gates have been eliminated in 2025-26.

•The Traffic Facility work  of New Crossing Station – Pothulapadu Station has been completed and commissioned.

• Conversion of ALPR station yard from 02 Roads to 04 Roads - The work of NI for the said work at ALPR has been taken from 09.12.25 to 14.12.2025 and was successfully completed.

• The work of replacement of Steel girders with PSC slabs on Br No: 406A (Span 1 x 12.2 M) and  Br No: 115 (UP Line)(Span 1 x 11.60 M) on SC-DHNE section has been completed.

Infrastructure Improvements

• Renovation of GM’s conference hall “SAMANVAY”.  Renovation of GM’s conference hall has been done by merging the existing GM’s conference Hall with Dining hall.  The work has been completed and inaugurated on 10.04.2025.

• The work of Provision ofNew Dining Hall (ATITHI) at SAMANVAY conference hall in 3rd floor Rail Nilayam has been completed and inaugurated by GM/SC on 02.06.2025.

• Inauguration of Renovated of annexe B & C blocks (Renamed as “Vindhya & Viraja”) of officers rest house on 27.01.2026 by GM/SC

• The work of Provision of New Lift (Up to 3rd floor)in Rail Nilayam & lifts at Officers Rest House (Saraswathi & Jogulamba) has been completed and commissioned.
