Role

 

Signal and Telecommunication department plays a vital role in Safe and Punctual running of trains at maximum permissible speed and productive utilization of Track, Rolling Stock (Coaches & Wagons), Locomotives and Manpower deployed in train operation by making the Signalling and Control communication systems available 24x7. The department contributes towards the passengers’ security and satisfaction by providing Surveillance and Audio – Visual Passenger Information systems at stations. Detailed role in the field of Signalling and telecommunication is as under.

 

Signalling

     A.Provision and maintenance of Train Movement Control system at station and between the stations for Safe & Punctual train running.

B.Optimum utilization of line capacity

 

Telecommunication

 

A). यात्रीसूचना प्रणाली  (ट्रेन औरकोचसूचना बोर्डऔरसार्व 

बोधनऔरघोषणाप्रणाली) का  प्रावधान  और  रखरखाव।

      Provision and maintenance of Passenger Information System 

     (Train and Coach Information Boards and Public Address and 

      Announcement Systems).

 B).रेलवे परिसरों  में  यात्रियों  की सुरक्षा  को  सक्षम   करने  के 

 लिए  स्टेशन,  टिकट  काउंटरों  और  आरक्षण  काउंटरों  पर  वीडियो  

 निगरानी  प्रणाली  का  प्रावधान  और रखरखाव।

Provision and maintenance of Video Surveillance System at station, 

 Ticket Counters & Reservation Counters to enable the Passengers’ 

 Security in railway premises.

  C.दूरसंचार अवसंरचना  का  प्रावधान  और  रखरखाव:

   Provision and Maintenance of Telecommunication infrastructure for:

        Voice and Data communication among offices and work centres.

        II.ड्राइवर, गार्ड  और  स्टेशन  मास्टर  वायरले  ससंचा

         Driver, Guard and Station Master wireless communication

        III.उपग्रह  के  माध्यम से  दुर्घटना  स्थलसंचार

        Accident site communication through satellite

        IV.यात्री  आर  क्षण  प्रणाली (पीआरएस)

        Passenger Reservation System (PRS)

        V.अनारक्षित  टिकट  प्रणाली (यूटीएस)

        Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS)

        VI.माल   परिचालन   सूचनाप्रणाली  (एफओआईएस)

         Freight Operation Information System (FOIS)

         VII.रेलवेकॉरपोरेटवाइडइंफॉर्मेशनसिस्टम  (रेलनेट)  काप्रबंधन

        Management of Railways Corporate Wide Information 

        System (RAILNET)

         Installation &  maintenance in the division under Sr.DSTE/HYB as on           17.09.2025
