Shri Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway inaugurated Cardiac Cath Lab and Advanced Cardiac Unit at Central Hospital, Lallaguda, Secunderabad today i.e., 26th June, 2025. Smt. Nirmala Rajaram, Principal Chief Medical Director, SCR; Lokesh Vishnoi, Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division; Dr. I. Siva Naga Prasad, Medical Director, Central Hospital; Dr. NVBK Sai, Chief Staff Surgeon 1 (Cardiologist), Central Hospital; Dr Krishnaveni, Chief Staff Surgeon 2, Central Hospital and Principal Heads of the Departments, other senior officials, Doctors and Hospital Staff, representatives from recognized trade unions, retired employees were also present on the occasion.
The new Cardiac Cath Lab will enable the hospital to perform critical procedures such as angiograms and angioplasties, ensuring timely intervention for patients with cardiac conditions. The Advanced Cardiac Unit includes a modern Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and a Cardiothoracic Operation Theatre (OT), offering comprehensive cardiac care under one roof.
This makes Central Hospital at Lallaguda the fourth hospital across Indian Railways to be equipped with a Cath Lab. The facility addresses a long awaited requirement and will immensely benefit Railway beneficiaries, especially during cardiac emergencies.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Arun Kumar Jain expressed that the new facility marks a major step towards further strengthening healthcare infrastructure for Railway employees and their families. He emphasized that timely cardiac care can save lives, and this initiative reflects the commitment of South Central Railway towards the well-being of its workforce.
