South Central Railway has initiated swift action for restoration of breaches at railway tracks between Bhiknur – Tadmadla in Medchal – Nizamabad section and in Akanapet – Medak section. Due to incessant rains from the past several hours, water has been overflowing on the tracks in the above two sections. To ensure additional safety, the train services in Nizamabad – Medchal section were streamlined immediately in the form of cancellations/Diversions/ Rescheduling/ Partial cancellations as per the need of the situation.
Round the clock Disaster Management and Response Control (DMRC) Room has been setup at Rail Nilayam to monitor the situation from time to time and speed up the restoration of breached tracks. Shri Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager, SCR attended the Disaster Management and Response Control room and personally monitored the situation to assess the damage done by floods due to heavy rains and issued necessary instructions for further speedy action. Regular interaction is being done with Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division to assess the situation at the ground level. Shri Satya Prakash, Additional General Manager, SCR, Ms. Padmaja, Principal Chief Operations Manager, SCR, Shri Brij Mohan Meena, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, SCR and other senior officers are also available at Disaster Management & Response Control room at SCR Headquarters to monitor the situation.
Shri Santosh Kumar Varma, Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division along with other senior officials rushed to the spot by Tower Car to inspect the restoration works. one Monsoon Special with 14 Wagons consisting of sand bags, boulders, girders, sleepers etc has been started from Purna junction at 13.00 hrs of today i.e., 27th August, 2025 towards Tadmadla – Bhiknur section to carry out the restoration works. one more monsoon special with 28 wagons left Kazipet at 13.25 hours consisting of Sand, Boulders, Cribes, Pipes etc towards Nizamabad section for speedy restoration of track. High level engineering team reached the spot to assess the damage done and action plan has been prepared to restore the railway track on war footing basis. It is being ensured that breaches at these locations will be restored within the minimum possible time frame.
Keeping in view of the rail traffic disruption, four bulletins were issued as of now in which 10 trains were cancelled, 08 trains were partially cancelled, 16 trains were diverted via alternative routes and 02 trains were rescheduled. The Managers of the Pantry Cars on the Trains diverted through alternative routes are being advised to make available proper food and water to the passengers on timely basis. Adequate supply of food materials to the passengers on board is being ensured through alternative measures for the trains without Pantry Car facility. Snacks / Food packets have been made available from the Platform Catering Stalls and also involving assistance from local food suppliers.
Help-Line numbers were setup at major stations Viz., Secunderabad, Kacheguda, Nizamabad and Kamareddi to convey information on the current status of train services to the public. Wide dissemination of information on the train services has also been taken up through Print, electronic and Social Media apart from these Help Lines.
