Ensure Punctuality and Safety with Observing all the Precautions of Weather Condition - Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, GM/SCR

Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, South Central Railway instructed the officials to accord top priority for Punctuality of the trains along with safety by observing all the precautions in view of the prevailing inclement weather conditions. He conducted a detailed review o­n Safety, Punctuality and Freight Loading today i.e., 18th December, 2018 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded joined the review meeting through video conference.

The General Manager reviewed the Punctuality of the zone with all the DRMs. He instructed the officials to identify the root causes for several issues hampering punctuality and take remedial steps to improve the performance. He also stated that loco failures, Signal failures and weld failures etc have been identified as some of the factors affecting the punctuality of the zone. He also instructed officials to monitor the speed restrictions and advised to minimize at possible locations.

On safety aspect, the General Manager instructed the officials to avoid shortcut methods and to adopt absolute safety procedures in train operations. He also instructed to focus o­n yards and advised to have safety audits to strengthen the track in yards. He also instructed to improve safety standards at goods sidings also. He instructed officials to intensify the track patrolling in bad weather conditions for enhanced safety.

Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav also reviewed the loading performance of the zone and instructed the officials to make better action plans with due attention to draw the better loading performance o­n overall Indian Railways targets.Further he discussed o­n o­ngoing railway projects such as doubling, electrification etc.

Ramana Reddy, Principal Chief Personnel Officer; Dr. T.J.Prakash, Principal Chief Medical Director and Shri G.M.Eswara Rao, Principal Chief Security CommissionerSCR were amongst the officials present.
