Focus on Infrastructural Development Handle the projects with precision to reach the Targets -Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, Chairman, Railway Board

               Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, Chairman, Railway Board (CRB), New Delhi advised to focus o­n all o­ngoing infrastructural developmental works o­n the Indian Railways and handle the projects with precision to complete them within targets set by the board. The progress of commissioning of new lines, gauge conversions and doubling of lines is regularly monitored by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and the Hon’ble Minister of Railways and Coal Shri Piyush Goyal. He was addressing a high level works review meeting of General Managers (GMs) of all the Zonal Railways including RVNL and CORE o­n the aspect of works in progress today i.e., 9th January, 2019 from Railway Board, New Delhi through video conference.

            Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav extensively reviewed the progress of all o­ngoing infrastructural projects targeted for completion during Financial Year 2018-19.  While discussing, he advised all the General Managers to focus o­n the new lines, doubling, tripling, electrification, gauge conversion, bypass lines and yard remodeling works and instructed to expedite the works for early completion i.e before March, 2019. He advised the officials to identify the key issues related to important and critical works including land acquisition, which are hampering the progress of projects as per target. He also advised to change the strategy in finalizing the tenders related to o­ngoing infrastructural projects for speeding up the works. He instructed the officials to send a consolidated report o­n requirement of funds as per priority and project wise. All the General Managers appraised o­n the status of the o­ngoing projects and issues like supply of rails, signaling cables, empty wagons, and track machines etc which are to be addressed by Railway Board.

               Shri John Thomas, Additional General Manager, SCR presented a report o­n the performance and achievements of the Zone. He stated that the Zone is able to attain targets in doubling, tripling and electrification works. Shri K.V.Siva Prasad, Principal Chief Engineer; Shri N. Madhusudana Rao, Principal Chief Operations Manager; Shri Vijay Agrawal, Chief Administrative Officer (Construction); Shri Vinay Mohan Srivastava, Chief Signal & Telecommunications Engineer and Shri A.A.Phadke, Chief Electrical Engineer attended the meeting.
