Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, Chairman, Railway Board (CRB), New Delhi advised to focus on utilization of funds according priority to all ongoing infrastructural developmental works. He stated that, the progress of commissioning of new lines, doubling and tripling of railway lines is being regularly monitored by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and the Hon’ble Minister of Railways and Coal Shri Piyush Goyal. He was addressing a high level review meeting of General Managers (GMs) of all the Zonal Railways including RVNL, RITES and CORE on the aspect of rail works in progress today i.e., 6thFebruary, 2019 from Railway Board, New Delhi through video conference.
Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav held a detailed review on the progress of all ongoing infrastructural projects targeted for completion during Financial Year 2018-19. He advised the General Managers to focus on the new lines, doubling, tripling, electrification works and instructed to expedite the works for early completion i.e before March, 2019. He advised the officials to make an advance plan for land acquisition so that the projects will be executed without any delays after the necessary budget allocations. He also advised the General Managers to give special attention to maintenance of tracks with strict vigil on track patrolling activities for providing safety in train operations. Further, he advised the General Managers to give due priority for the projects which will enhance the freight loading activity. All the General Managers appraised on the status of the ongoing projects and issues like supply of rails, signaling cables and track maintenance related issues etc which are to be addressed by Railway Board.
Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR presented a report on performance and achievements of the Zone and the requirement of the funds for the ongoing projects. He stated that the Zone is able to attain targets in doubling, tripling and electrification works on the basis of a firm plan of action. He also sought additional funds for development of staff amenities such as development of Astroturf Stadium etc.
Earlier, Shri Gajanan Mallya held a detailed review on the performance of the zone with the Principal Heads of the departments in his chamber, the first such initiative after he assumed charge on SCR. Shri John Thomas, Additional General Manager; Shri N. Madhusudana Rao, Principal Chief Operations Manager; Shri Vijay Agrawal, Chief Administrative Officer (Construction); Shri Brajendra Kumar, Principal Financial Advisor; Shri Vinay Mohan Srivastava, Principal Chief Signal & Telecommunications Engineer and Shri A.A.Phadke, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer attended the meeting.
