Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR inspects MMTS system in Hyderabad City, Interacts with commuters

Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway made an extensive inspection of the Multi Modal Transport System (MMTS) network in Hyderabad city, today i.e 02ndMarch, 2019. In his maiden inspection of the MMTS system after taking charge as the head for the zone, the General Manager also interacted with the commuters of MMTS, the popular intra city rail services.

Commencing his inspection o­n board an MMTS service from Secunderabad to Lingampalli, Shri Gajanan Mallya travelled in each of the coaches of the train and interacted with the rail users, a large majority being regular patrons of the services. The General Manager took feedback and suggestions from the passengers, seeking their opinion o­n the efficiency of the MMTS services and steps that can be taken to further better the same. Upon reaching Lingampalli, the General Manager went through the entire premises of the fast developing station in the western suburbs of Hyderabad, to check o­n the various passenger amenities and facilities, besides the o­ngoing improvement works to further develop Lingampalli station. He inspected the Platforms, Catering stalls, Waiting halls, Circulating area, Booking offices, Parking areas etc. He also visited the residential quarters of railway staff, besides the station to check the maintenance and upkeep.The General Manager was briefed o­n the various developmental works taken up at Lingampalli Railway station by senior railway officials of Secunderabad Division. The works in progress includes provision of Escalator, extension of booking office etc.

Later, Shri Gajanan Mallya travelled to Hitech City and Begumpet Railway stations and undertook inspection of these two major stations o­n the MMTS network. The General Manager travelled in the Loco Pilot’s cabin by an MMTS service to inspect the rail infrastructure of the MMTS section till Falaknuma, including maintenance of the track, signaling system, cleanliness besides the rail tracks etc. At Falaknuma, he made a check of the works o­n the new railway station building under construction, the platforms, concourse area, passenger amenities etc. Officials of Hyderabad Division who accompanied the General Manager in this stretch of his inspection visit, briefed him o­n the various facilities and amenities provided at all the MMTS stations in the section. The inspection ended with the General Manager travelling from Falaknuma to Secunderabad by an MMTS service to check the quality and upkeep of the coaches.
