SCR Celebrates Record Performance during 64th Railway Week Credit for the Commendable Performance goes to Employees - Shri Gajanan Mallya, GM, SCR


Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager stated that the commendable performance achieved by the Zone during the financial year 2018-19 will be credited to the staff and officers South Central Railway. The General Manager was addressing a big gathering of Railway Officers, Staff and their family members at the 64th Railway Week Celebrations held today i.e., 15th April, 2019 at Rail Kalarang, Bhoiguda, Secunderabad to commemorate the first train run o­n Indian soil.

Speaking o­n the occasion, Shri Gajanan Mallya stated that SCR has recorded outstanding performance and reinforced its credentials as the best Zone o­n Indian Railways. The Zone registered a highest ever freight loading of 122.5 Million Tonnes during the 2018-19 financial year, which is up by 19% as compared to the previous year. Earnings from freight transportation have crossed the Rs. 10, 000 Crores for the first time, he added. In terms of Passenger traffic, the Zone has carried 383 Million of originating passengers which is an increase of 4 Million passengers when compared to the previous year. The Zone has recorded remarkable performance with originating earnings of Rs. 15, 640 Crores which is a significant 15% increase over the previous financial year.

GM’s Over All Best Performance Efficiency Shield Presented to Secunderabad & Vijayawada Divisions jointly.

The glittering function was marked by presentation of the General Manager’s Over All Best Performance Shield to Secunderabad & Vijayawada Divisions jointly. Shri Gajanan Mallya, GM, SCR presented the shield to Shri Anand Bhatia, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division and Shri R. Dhananjayulu, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada Division.

The General Manager presented 33 Zonal Level Efficiency Shields to various Departments & Divisions. Secunderabad Division also got Best Energy Conservation (Electrical); Diesel Traction; Best Loading Effort; Best Track; Innovations; Environment & Housekeeping; station Cleanliness; Signal & Telecom and Civil Engineering Shields. Vijayawada Division also got Best Utilization of Track Machines; Best Maintained ART & MRV; Best Maintained Running Room; Innovations; HRD (Personnel); Commercial; Operating and Civil Engineering Shields; Best maintained long-distance Train. Guntakal Division got Rajbhasha; Cleanliness; Best Track Shield; Survey & Construction; Best Division for Elimination of Level Crossings; Medical and Mechanical Shields. Hyderabad Division got Best School (Railway Mixed High School, South Lallaguda); Best Maintained DEMU/MEMU/EMU Shed; Security and Safety Shields. Guntur Division got Scrap Disposal; Best Division for Elimination of Level Crossings; Electrical and Finance (Accounts) Shields. Nanded Division got Scrap Disposal and Grievance Redressal Machinery Shields.

The General Manager also presented 171 individual awards and 23 group awards to the officers and staff in recognition of their meritorious contribution.

Earlier, Shri John Thomas, Addl. General Manager, SCR in his welcome address stated that SCR is known for its image as o­ne of the best performing Zones o­n Indian Railways. It is running 744 trains and transporting around 05 lakh passengers per day. The Zone is first o­n Indian Railways to achieve 100% LED lighting at all the stations, service buildings and residential quarters. The zone has also launched Kaizala app to extend Health care services to the employees. Ms. Chandrima Roy, Senior Deputy General Manager & Chief Vigilance Officer, SCR was also present o­n the occasion.
