Monitor Safety with Strict Vigilance & Surveillance Network – Shri Gajanan Mallya GM/SCR

Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway advised that safety should be accorded top priority with continuous monitoring of safety aspects with strict vigilance and installation of surveillance network. He conducted a review meeting o­n improvement of safety and punctuality today i.e., o­n 22nd April, 2019 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principal Heads of Departments. The Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded joined the review meeting through video conference.

Shri Gajanan Mallya stressed o­n prevention of fire incidents at railway premises including station yards and office buildings. He emphasized o­n the fire safety equipment to be modernized and kept ready for use instantly at any point of time. He also advised Zonal officers and the DRMs of all the Divisions to conduct mock fire drills in a time bound schedules so that preparedness so that the events of fire may end with minimum damage. He instructed all the Divisions to install surveillance cameras in the offices and corridors to find out the real position of safety at any point of time. He also advised the all DRMs to protect the stabling rakes in the yards and stations with installation of adequate surveillance cameras to prevent all kinds of unusual occurrences.

The General Manager reviewed the o­ngoing projects o­n the Zone especially the doubling work between Guntur and Tenali stations. He instructed the DRMs to improve punctuality despite of developmental and maintenance work schedules duly giving priority to safety.

Eswara Rao, Principal Chief Security Commissioner were amongst the officials present.
