Safety has no Holiday…. Always Show Alertness -Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR

Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway reiterated that safety has no holiday and show alertness while performing duty in train operations. He conducted a detailed review meeting o­n Safety and Punctuality of the zone today i.e., 20th May, 2019 at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principle Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions participated through video conference.

Shri Gajanan Mallya reviewed safety aspects of the train operations and called upon all the Divisional officials to specially focus o­n the safety at the Manned Level crossings. He instructed to conduct thorough inspection at all points and crossings by coordinating the engineering and signaling staff to ensure the safety at the vulnerable areas. He also reviewed o­n the aspect of punctuality, instructed the DRMs to keep focus o­n the issues which are hampering the Punctuality such as loco failures and signal failures etc and make an action plan to improve the punctuality performance.

The General Manager in his review meeting stated that every financial transaction should be done in two stage verification and also discussed the steps to be taken to improve the fool proof system in the Railways. The General Manager reviewed the progress of UMID (Unique Medical Identification System), Kaizala App o­n the Zone. The employee registration o­n UMID application is primary task and this portal is very useful for working / retired employees for cashless transactions, he added.

Eswara Rao, Principal Chief Security Commissioner, Shri M.G.Sekharam, Chief Safety Officer;, SCR were amongst the officials present.
