Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway presented “Man of the Month” safety awards to 45 employees for showing alertness in the duty and taking timely action to prevent unsafe conditions. He presented the awards during a virtual safety meeting held today i.e., 6th October, 2020 from Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Shri B.B. Singh, Additional General Manager and Principal Heads of Departments; Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions also participated the virtual meeting.
The General Manager held a detailed review on Business Development Units (BDU’s) and emphasized on the consistent efforts to identify the new avenues of freight traffic and new customers/traders to enhance the loading. He advised the officials to explore the new areas of traffic and explain the potential customers about newly introduced tariff concessions and incentives which can boost the loading. The officials briefed on plans about running of more Kisan Rails for the benefited of farmers/traders and in the interest of the Nation.
The General Manager also conducted a detailed review of all the safety measures being implanted in train operations and maintenance of punctuality for both passenger and freight trains. He instructed the officials to monitor all the assets and take proactive measures to minimize technical failures like cable, OHE, weld failures and mechanical deficits if any. He also made suggestions on improving the quality of rolling stock inspections etc. He advised the officials to focus on all types of maintenance works related to track, signaling and rolling stock etc., which can indirectly impact the punctuality.
Shri Gajanan Mallya virtually presented the “Man of the month” safety awards to 45 employees of the zone. The employees belonging to various categories like loco pilots, Station Masters, Technicians, Points Man, Key Man, Track Man, Gate Man etc. the awards have been received by 08 employees of Secunderabad division, 04 employees of Hyderabad division, 11 employees of Vijayawada division, 08 employees of Guntakal division and 14 employees of Nanded division from the hands of the concerned Divisional Railway Managers.
