Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed across the Nation every year during the week in which the birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (31st October) falls. Accordingly, “Vigilance Awareness Week - 2020”is being observed from 27th October to 2nd November, 2020 with a theme of Vigilant India, Prosperous India (Satark Bharat, Samriddh Bharat).
As a part of it, South Central Railway Vigilance Department is organizing several awareness campaigns and programmes. Due to the current pandemic situation prevailing over the country to avoid mass gathering and to comply the ICMR protocol guidelines, for the first time an innovative Virtual Meet has been organised by the Vigilance Department of South Central Railway for two days i.e., on 28th and 29th October, 2020.
These virtual meets were conducted separately for the customers, contractors and vendors of Commercial, Signal & Telecommunications and Engineering departments. Apart from various stakeholders, Senior officers from Railways both Headquarters and Divisions are also participated in the virtual meet in large number. During this virtual meet several issues raised by the members were addressed. Further, the problems faced and the valuable suggestions given by the accomplices were recorded for taking necessary. Participating members appreciated the innovative initiative taken up by the Vigilance Department in the present pandemic times. The virtual meetings were convened by Ms. Chandrima Roy, Senior Deputy General Manager & Chief Vigilance Officer, South Central Railway and Senior Vigilance Officials.
On this occasion, Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager appreciated the initiative being taken up by the South central Railway Vigilance department and lauded the efforts of all the officers and staff of Vigilance branch in organizing the virtual meet for the benefit of stake holders.
