Shri Gajanan Mallya, GM, SCR launches ‘Sapta Shikar’, a Rail Guide - General review on the Safety, Loafing and Punctuality performance of the zone held

Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway virtually launched ‘Sapta Shikar’ a rail guide depicting the tourist places in an around the Guntakal Division today i.e., 5th January, 2021 from Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. He also held a detailed review o­n safety, freight loading and punctuality of the Zone through Video conferencing. Shri Arun Kumar Jain, Additional General Manager was also present. Principal Heads of Departments; Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions participated the web conference.

The rail guide ‘Sapta Shikar’ contains information related to the various pilgrim centers and tourist places connected to the Guntakal Divisional jurisdiction. The guide is brought out in the national langue ‘Hindi’ to cater the information needs of tourists and pilgrims visiting the region from entire nation. It contains detailed information o­n places to visit in and around Tirupati-Tirumala, Sri Sailam etc.

Shri Gajanan Mallya held a detailed review o­n the measures being taken for strengthening safety. He instructed the officials to implement advance training modules o­n skilled training, regular counselling for crew to avail proper rest before joining the duty. He instructed the officials to have a detailed study o­n the circumstances which leads to minor problems in the sidings and yards etc. He instructed all the DRMs to continue the safety drives specially focusing o­n all the rollingstock including locos.

The General Manger conducted a detailed review o­n loading performance of the zone and instructed the officials for regular monitoring o­n loading o­n division wise to reach the target. He also instructed to make out plans for proper utilization of man power and maintenance of rolling stock to improve the loading. He instructed to conduct regular meetings with the freight customers to address the issues related to freight loading pertaining to products like Food grains, Fertilizers, Granite loading etc., and make an action plans to improve Cement, Clinker and Flyash loading. The officials briefed o­n the action plan set to improve the loading and punctuality of the Zone. He also discussed o­n the running of some more festival trains in view of Sankranthi to comfort the passengers during the Sankranthi festival season.
