The first doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to the South Central Railway frontline medical staff at Central Railway Hospital, Lallaguda, Secunderabad today i.e., on 18th January, 2021 in the presence of Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR. The first vaccine shots were given to healthcare staff like Doctors, Nurses, and Housekeeping staff.
During the COVID-19 pandemic these frontline healthcare staff of the Zone have rendered yeomen service, putting their physical, mental and social well-being at risk. Due to their dedicated service, the healthcare staff of the Zone are the first to be given COVID-19 vaccination doses, as part of the nationwide COVID vaccine drive to the frontline Health Care Personnel.
The Zonal hospital in co-coordination with the Central and State Governments has received 593 doses of COVID-19 Vaccine. These vaccine shots will be given to all health care staff belonging to the health units of Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Chilkalguda, Kacheguda and Moula-ali over a period of six days. The health care staff which includes Doctors, Nursing Staff, Lab Technicians, Pharmacists and Housekeeping will be vaccinated in the first phase.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR expressed his happiness for arranging COVID-19 vaccine to the frontline staff working in Railways. He also lauded the services delivered by the medical personnel during these testing Pandemic times. Later, the General Manager conducted extensive inspection of the Central Hospital, Lallaguda and interacted with the patients and enquired about the services provided by the Railway Hospital.
