South Central Railway is always in the forefront with several initiatives to empower the women workforce and promote gender equality in Railways along with developing their moraleand self-confidence.During the Covid 19 Pandemic time the women employees of South Central Railway have discharged their duties with utmost dedication and devotion for the welfare of the Nation. on the occasion of the International Women’s Day, SCR felicitated 15 women employees of the zone today i.e., on 08th March, 2021. Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager presented Certificates and Cash awards to the women employees.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Gajanan Mallya, GM, SCR stated that the zone has accorded top priority in addressing the issues concerning women workforce. SCR always taken a proactive approach for Empowerment of women workforceby duly providing suitable facilities at the work place. He appreciated and congratulated the women employees belonging to the Medical, Operating, Security wings etc., who have rendered their yeomen service in the hour of need. He also recollected active role played by the women employees in running the Shramik special trains during the Covid times. This type of recognition will definitely boost the confidence in women employees, he opined.
On this occasion, the awardee women employees have shared their experiences while performing their duties during the pandemic times which was not only interesting but also thought provoking. Shri Rajiv Kishor, Principal Chief Personnel officer addressed the gathering and praised the services of women employees of the zone. He complimented the role of women employees and their valuable services in combating the Pandemic situation created due to Covid-19.
Earlier during the day, to further spread the importance of women empowerment and to promote gender equality, South Central Railway held a Webinar. Ms. K. Satyavati, Advisory Member, NGO was the Chief Guest who enlightened the participants with key issues relating to the women. The webinar was joined bySCR’s Officials & large number of women employees.
