-Transported one rake containing 4025 tonnes of Clinker to Solapur
The continuous marketing efforts by the Railway officials of Guntur Division has yielded results and today i.e., 09th March, 2021 one rake clinker has been loaded from Nadikude to Solapur in Maharashtra. Nadikudi and its neighboring areas of Guntur Division are surrounded by major and minor cement plants. While Cement manufactured by the major plants are generally transported by Rail, Railways have been intensifying its marketing efforts to attract clinker loading also towards Railways.
Due to pandemic Covid-19, the road transportation has comedown drastically and at the same time Railways encouraged the customers for transporting by rail duly providing several concessions and rebates in the freight charges. The newly formed Business Development Units (BDU) are regularly in touch with the local tiny and small cement plant owners near Nadikude and explained the benefits for transportation by Rail. The BDU team conducted several meetings and informed them that transportation by rail is faster, safer and economical and also reduces enroute detention and loses.
This has helped in revival of the freight loading from Nadikude station of Guntur division and has resulted in transportation of one rake containing 59 BOX N wagons loaded with clinker for transportation to Solapur in Maharashtra, today i.e 09th March 2021. Further, freight customers are keen in transporting their commodities by rail to different parts of the country from Nadikude station, which is convenient location connected by road and also easy to handle the consignments.
Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR appreciated the efforts of BDU team of Guntur Division in reviving the freight loading from Nadikude station. General Manager instructed the officials of Guntur division to extend all the necessary help to the customers for transporting their consignments from Nadikude station. He also advised the freight customers near Nadikude station to avail the facility extended by Railways for transporting their consignments in the safer and economical way.
