Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway conducted a review meeting on safety, freight loading and punctuality of the Zone today i.e., 10th March, 2021 from Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Principal Heads of Departments; Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions participated through web conference.
Shri Gajanan Mallya stressed on the precautions to be observed during summer season to avoid incidents of fire in the Railway premises and trains also. He informed all the officials to regularly carry out fire audits mainly at office buildings. The General Manager advised the officials to scrap the unwanted materials present at work places which may lead to the untoward incidents of fire. Regular checks/maintenance of fire safety equipment like smoke detectors, fire alarm system must be provided at all the places of importance. All the premises should be invariably provided with water hydrants and fire extinguishers, he added.
The General Manager advised the officials to initiate special measures for the safety and comfort of passengers’ health during summer. The General Manager also stressed on the safety of on-field staff and advised the officials to reschedule the working hours on tracks during peak temperature hours.
Shri Gajanan Mallya conducted a detailed review on safety of train operations in the Zone. The General Manager reiterated that regular counseling of Loco staff is essential. He informed the officials to carry out safety drives to educate on-field staff to avert untoward incidents or unsafe conditions. He advised the officials to adhere to all guidelines and strictly observe all safety measures to ensure smooth running of trains.
The General Manager held a detailed review on freight loading performance of the Zone. He complimented the officials for growth in freight loading especially materials like Cement, Granite, Gypsum, Fly ash etc. The General Manager also held a review with all the Divisional Railway Managers on Business Development Units (BDU’s) on freight loading. He appreciated the BDU’s for improvement of freight loading over the Zone
