- Set up by Rotary Club with assistance of SCR
A Baby Feeding (Lactation) Kiosk to facilitate nursing mothers has been set up by the Rotary Club of Hyderabad East, Rotary International District 3150 in coordination with South Central Railway. It was inaugurated at Hyderabad Railway Station today i.e., 12th April, 2021 by Smt. Shikha Goel, IPS, Additional Commissioner of Police, Crimes & SIT, Hyderabad City in the presence of Shri Pradeep Rathore, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM), Secunderabad Division, Shri N V Hanumanth Reddy, Rotary District Governor 3150, Hyderabad, and Senior Railway Officials and Rotarians.
The Kiosk has been setup on the Platform No. 4 at Hyderabad Railway Station which is an important rail hub and busy Railway station on SCR. The kiosk with the cubicles will immensely help the Nursing mothers duly providing privacy for lactation (breastfeeding) of their kids, while undertaking rail journey.
Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Shikha Goel appreciated the efforts of Rotary Club for rendering assistance for setting up the baby feeding kiosk at Hyderabad Railway Station, which is the major rail hub in twin cities of Hyderabad. She also praised Rotary Club for their yeomen service to the society like peace and conflict prevention/resolution, disease prevention and treatment, water & sanitation, maternity and child health, basic education and literacy, economic & community development etc.
Railways is always in the fore front in providing amenities and facilities to its rail users and setting up of lactation kiosks is one among such initiatives. Maternal and Childcare being one of the focus areas of passenger amenities, Railways are planning to set up more such kiosks/cubicles in few important Railways stations with the assistance of Rotary Club for the benefit of nursing mothers traveling by rail.
