Adopt COVID Appropriate Behavior to Curb the pandemic - Shri Gajanan Mallya, GM, SCR

Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway conducted a detailed review o­n o­ngoing infrastructural works, freight loading, safety and punctuality of the Zone today i.e., 22nd April, 2021 o­n virtual platform from SCR Hqrs Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. The Principal Heads of Departments; Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Guntakal and Nanded Divisions participated through web conference.

Shri Gajanan Mallya stressed upon to adopt the COVID appropriate behavior by Railway staff and strictly follow the preventive measures to stand before the challenge posed by Pandemic. He emphasized o­n early detection and self-isolation to curb the spread of infections. He conducted a review o­n the position of holding the vaccination camps over the zone to vaccinate all eligible railway staff. He also reviewed o­n the medical facilities available at Railway Hospitals and instructed to step up the facilities as per the demand. He instructed the DRMs to focus o­n regular sanitization of station premises and trains.

Shri Gajanan Mallya conducted a detailed review o­n safety of train operations in the Zone. The General Manager stressed upon conduct of the special safety drives and monitoring of safety aspects at all levels as advised by the Railway Board. He advised officials to stick to the safety action plans. He advised to counsel the staff regularly for adopting full safety measures at work spot. He reviewed the progress of various works in progress and advised to plan meticulously and speed up the works as per the Railway Board target for safer and hassle-free movement of train operations.

The General Manager also held a detailed review o­n freight loading performance of the Zone including Parcel traffic. He instructed the DRMs to prepare action plans for ensuring growth in freight loading, especially in commodities like Coal, Cement, Granite, Gypsum, Fly ash etc. He conducted a detailed review o­n the efforts of Business Development Units (BDU’s) and strategies being implemented to improve loading and new traffic avenues. He instructed to focus o­n new areas to improve freight loading over the Zone. He complimented Divisions for their efforts put in identifying traffic and improving freight performance of the Zone.
