Tenth Oxygen Express train to Telangana with 118.93 tonnes of LMO to reach today

- Two more Oxygen Express trains bring Liquid Medical Oxygen to Guntur and Krishnapatnam Port in Andhra Pradesh

- Oxygen Express train bring over 230 tonnes of LMO to the Telugu States today

Indian Railways continues to bring Liquid Medical Oxygen to the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to provide relief by meeting the Oxygen needs of both the Telugu states. The Tenth Oxygen Express to Telangana is scheduled to arrive at Sanath Nagar in Hyderabad today i.e., o­n 22nd May, 2021 transporting 118.93 tonnes of LMO in 06 container tankers. The train was loaded from Roukela in Odisha.

On the Other hand, two Oxygen Express trains have reached Guntur and Krishnapatnam today. The third Oxygen Express train to Guntur brought 40 tonnes of LMO in two tankers from Durgapur in West Bengal. Simultaneously, the fifth Oxygen Express brought 75.75 tonnes of LMO in 4 tankers from Rourkela in Odisha. Significantly, both the trains have been run with utmost priority clocking an average speed of over 60 kmph.

The Indian Railways has been operating Oxygen Express trains along the Green Corridors, ensuring that they travel with minimal Enroute detentions. Adequate precautions are being taken so as to ensure that the Cryogenic cargo is safely transported across various states. Simultaneously, both the movement of the train along with the supporting infrastructure is being monitored closely so as to ensure that the Oxygen Express trains reach their destination States at the least possible duration.

Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR has assured that the Railways is taking all necessary steps to ensure that the Oxygen Express trains reaches in the fastest possible time. He said that the movement of these trains is being given the highest sense of urgency, with multi-disciplinary teams working round the clock to ensure speedy delivery. He also appreciated the staff and officers for the coordination and liaison being maintained with the state governments of both originating and destination stations for expediting the supply of oxygen by these trains.
