Intensify Vaccination of All Staff and Family Members - Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR

- General Manager conducts review meeting with all DRMs

- Reviews the performance of Safety, Loading, Punctuality and New Initiatives o­n the Zone

Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway conducted a review meeting o­n Covid preparedness, safety, freight loading and punctuality of the Zone today i.e., 03rd August, 2021 from Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Principal Heads of Departments; Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions participated through web conference.

The General Manager reviewed the Covid preparedness of the Zone. He emphasized to intensify the vaccination drive at Railway premises to ensure vaccination of all the staff and family members. He complimented the officials for undertaking speedy vaccination of Railway men through initiatives like door-to-door vaccination in Railway premises. He also took stock of the healthcare infrastructure facilities at Railway hospitals such as Oxygen supply, number of beds and adequate availability of medicines, PPE Kits and masks. He advised all the officials and staff to take necessary precautions and strictly follow all the Covid protocols without any compromise during their regular working. He also advised the officials to further strengthen the health infrastructure and manpower at Railway Hospitals based o­n the need.

Shri Gajanan Mallya also conducted a detailed review o­n safety of train operations in the Zone. He emphasized to carry out regular safety drives involving the concerned supervisors to educate the staff to be more vigilant and inculcate good working and follow safe practices in train operations so as to prevent unsafe conditions and also to ensure the safety of workmen. He instructed the officials to frequently conduct field inspections at all levels i.e., headquarters and divisional levels in order to be more alert and take timely action wherever required. He advised the officials to regularly follow up with concerned staff and implement corrective action if any discrepancies are observed. He reiterated to strictly adhere to the guidelines and observe all safety measures at station yards and sidings.

The General Manager also held a detailed review o­n freight loading performance of the zone. He complimented the officials for growth in freight loading and instructed to make action plans to ensure further improvement. The General Manager also conducted a detailed review of speed enhancement o­n the newly commissioned lines and routes. He advised the officials to remove the caution orders wherever possible to speed up the movement of trains and to ease the congestion.
