Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR Holds Review Meeting on Safety



- Discussed the performance of Safety and freight Loading o­n the Zone

- Reviewed the status of different in-house applications developed by the divisions

Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, South Central Railway conducted a review meeting o­n safety and freight loading of the Zone today i.e., 11th August, 2021 from Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Principal Heads of Departments; Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all the six divisions viz., Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded Divisions participated through web conference.

The General Manager reviewed the status of safety drives being conducted over the zone for smooth running of trains and safety of workmen. He emphasized that during the course of the safety drives the officers, supervisors as well as the construction staff should be sensitized o­n all aspects of safety. He instructed the field officials to ensure worksite safety requirements without fail. Shri Gajanan Mallya emphasized o­n observance of safety norms at newly constructed bridges, Limited height subways etc., and advised the staff to frequently conduct field inspections and ensure regular monitoring of track parameters so that timely action can be taken if required. The General Manager reviewed the safety action plans prepared by the zone and reiterated strict adherence to the guidelines and safety measures.

Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager inaugurated the Cable Protection Management System (CPMS) App developed by Vijayawada Division to help maintain punctuality by reducing cable problems. The General Manager also evaluated the status of different in-house applications developed by the divisions to ease the workload of the employees and save time by eliminating the manual process. He appreciated all the six divisions for coming forward with different departmental applications which will benefit in storing data, maintenance & security of records and will ensure faster communication between the o­n-field staff and officers.

The General Manager also held a detailed review o­n freight loading performance of the zone. He complimented the officials for growth in freight loading by 50% for the month of July, 2021. He advised the business developmental units (BDUs) of all the divisions to focus o­n adding more commodities to the freight traffic to further improve the freight loading performance of the zone. He advised the officials to conduct regular meetings with freight customers, so that the problems, if any, can be resolved immediately.
