Shri Raosaheb Patil Danve, Hon’ble Minister of State of Railways Holds Review Meeting on SCR’s Performance

Shri Raosaheb Patil Danve, Hon’ble Minister of State of Railways, Coal & Mines visited South Central Railway Headquarters, Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad today i.e., 24th September, 2021 and held a performance review meeting of SCR Zone with Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR. Shri Arun Kumar Jain, Additional General Manager, SCR and Principal Heads of Departments were also present.

Hon’ble Minister complimented the officials and staff of South Central Railway for the progress achieved in various sectors. He advised the officials to speed up the progress of infrastructure facilities, passenger amenities and achieve the targets set for all round progress. Hon’ble Minister stressed that South Central Railway should transport a host of freight commodities and make every effort to strengthen its freight business. He advised the Officials to hold discussions with freight customers in frequent intervals for improving loading at places like Aurangabad, Hyderabad etc. He also advised the officials to hold meetings with the logistic companies also to provide last mile connectivity to the freight customers. He advised the officials to focus o­n improvement of Non-fare revenue.

Shri Raosaheb Patil Danve keenly reviewed the CCTV Network and Security systems all over the Zone and advised the officials to expand the network to further enhance the Security and Safety of the rail users. He also enquired o­n the child rescue operations being done by the Railway Protection Force and appreciated the efforts. The Minister also reviewed various important subjects as passenger traffic, running of Kisan rails, Doodh Duronto (Milk Special) trains etc. The Minister appreciated the good work done by the Railway Hospitals all over the nation during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Earlier, Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager detailed the measures taken up by SCR concerning key areas of Safety, Security, Punctuality as well as status of rail projects o­n the Zone. He elaborated the hon’ble minister o­n the improvements of passenger amenities, provision of Lifts & Escalators at various locations, steps being taken towards maintaining cleanliness, green environment, tapping solar power, digitization of working systems over the Zone etc.
