Productivity Linked Bonus announced to Railway Employees for the financial year 2020-21





- Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR holds virtual press meet today and briefed the media o­n the performance of the zone during the Pandemic time

Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, SCR announced that the Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved the Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) equivalent to 78 days' wages for the financial year 2020-21 for all eligible non-gazetted Railway employees. He addressed the media today i.e., 06th October, 2021 through a virtual conference from Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad.

The General Manager stated that about 11.56 lakh non-gazetted Railway employees will benefit from the decision. The financial implication of payment of 78 days' PLB to railway employees has been estimated to be Rs.1984.73 crore. The amount will be paid to various categories viz. Track maintainers, Drivers & Guards, Station masters, Supervisors, Technician, Technician Helper, controller, Points-men, Ministerial staff & other Group C staff.

Shri Gajanan Mallya also informed that around 84,000 non-gazetted employees of South Central Railway will be given the bonus which amounts to approximately Rs. 130 crore. He further stated that the payment of PLB acts as an incentive to motivate the railway employees for working towards improvement in the performance of the Railways.

During the virtual press meet, the General Manager also briefed the media o­n the achievements and performance of the zone, highlighting o­n the services rendered during the pandemic such as operating migrant specials and parcel train services for transportation of essential commodities. He stated that Railway hospitals have done commendable services during the pandemic. Around 21,000 Covid patients have been admitted into the various hospitals o­n the zone and 97.5% of them have been recovered successfully.

Shri Gajanan Mallya informed that a total of 470 Kisan Rails were run by SCR to various destinations. First time tabled Parcel Cargo Express to Bangladesh was started and 11 Parcel Express trains were run, 486 Doodh Duronto special trains were run to transport more eleven crore litres of milk from Renigunta to H. Nizamuddin. Twenty-two new freight streams have been identified and 7.5 million tonnes of traffic was loaded. Oxygen special trains were run o­n top priority during May-July, 2021 carrying more than 8,700 million tonnes of liquid medical oxygen to cater the needs of people in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States.
