South Central Railway organizedIntegrity Walkathon as part of Vigilance Awareness Week followed by a pledge on the occasion of “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas” (National Unity Day) today i.e., 31st October, 2021 at Railway Sports Complex, Secunderabad. Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager,Shri Arun Kumar Jain, Additional General Manager, Principal Heads of the Departments, Ms. Chandrima Roy,Senior Deputy General Manager, Smt. Jayanthi Mallya, President, S.C.R Women’s Welfare Organization, Sports and Civil Defense Personnel and Staff participated in the events.
Railway officers and staff enthusiastically joined the Integrity Walkathon at early morning.Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager led the rally to create awareness on the importance of Vigilance Awareness. The walkathon is aimed to reaffirm the commitment of SCR to promote integrity and probity in public life, generate public awareness and publicize the adverse impact of corruption and to bring down the menace of corruption to zero.
Addressing the gathering The General Manager spelled out the priority towards building a strong nation. He stated that corruption is a big drawback and it has to be eliminated. The mission to eliminate corruption needs determination and involvement of every citizen of the country.He advised the staff to make Integrity a part of their culture. Transparency in public sphere needs to be achieved with the adoption of modern technology to improve service availability to the common man.
The theme for the current year’s Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) is “Independent India @ 75: Self Reliance with Integrity”. The Vigilance wing of SCR has organized several programs during the vigilance week from 26th October to 1st November, 2021 at Zonal Headquarters, six Divisions, three major Workshops and field units to root out corruption and unethical practices from the system and to bring improvements by utilizing technology.
South Central Railway Celebrates “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas”:
The birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was celebrated by South Central Railway as “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas” today i.e., 31st October, 2021. Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manager, administered the “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas” Pledge to thegathering of Rail personnel assembled at RSC ground, Secunderabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Gajanan Mallya stated that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was a dynamic leader who had a firm belief in Unity and brought the people of the country together through his incessant efforts and uncompromising stand on National Unity. He highlighted the fact that the essence of patriotism is National Unity and as a united force we can build a greater Nation. This day acts to nurture nationalistic fervor amongst all Indians, he added.The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas was also observed across all the Divisions of South Central Railway, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded.
